It is required that all manuscripts submitted be original works by the authors and free of plagiarism. • 1. Definition of Plagiarism
    Plagiarism includes:
    • Using someone else's content, ideas, images, or data without giving due credit.
    • Rephrasing important passages of material without giving credit.
    • Presenting someone else's work as one's own.
    • Reuse of one's own previously published work without the proper citation or getting permission from the journal management (called as Self-plagiarism)
  • 2. Detection
All received articles are subjected to plagiarism screening using reliable plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin, iThenticate or other trustworthy.

Based on the context and level of overlap, the editorial team assesses similarity reports and decides if they are acceptable. The editorial board has the authority to reject or withdraw the paper at any time before or after publication if plagiarism is found, and the authors may be blacklisted from any more submissions.
  • 3. Permissible Similarity Index
Generally, a manuscript will only be considered for peer review if it's total similarity index is less than 10% and no single source is more than 2%. excluding references, bibliographies, frequently used technical terms, author names and their affiliations
  • 4. Consequences of Plagiarism
The severity will determine the course of action:
    a) Minor plagiarism or incorrect citations: If the plagiarism is in between 10% and 15%, the authors will be given a chance to revise the manuscript with the proper citations and references.
    b) Major plagiarism: If the manuscript contains more than 15% plagiarism, it will be rejected outright. This includes replicating text without giving credit. Additionally, the author or authors may not be allowed to submit manuscripts in the future.
    c) Post-Publication Plagiarism: If plagiarism is found after the material has been published, the article already published may be removed. Also, the author/s will receive a formal notice from the IJTE.
  • 5. Author/s Responsibility
The author or authors must submit a properly filled out Copy Right Form (CRF), signed by the author or authors, declaring that all the content included in the manuscript is their own original work. Any experimental setups, data, designs, tables, graphs, code, text, figures, and other content from previously published sources that were used to prepare the manuscript are cited under the references.

The manuscript must also be checked for plagiarism in compliance with the IJTE plagiarism policy prior to submission.
  • 6. Appeals and Decision
Author/s can appeal the editorial board decision in rejecting the manuscript for any reason/s by providing an extensive justification with supporting facts. The editorial board or an ethical committee may consider reviewing the appeal.

In the event of disputes or appeals regarding plagiarism detection, manuscript suitableness, or article rejection owing to reviewer/s comments, the Editorial Board will conduct an independent evaluation, and its decision will be final.
  • 7. Awareness
IJTE continually encourages authors by giving them proper guidelines to make sure they fully understand and avoid plagiarism when preparing their manuscripts.
